Women: Created With Purpose to Be Used
For so long, women have been used, but the problem isn’t that women are used, it’s that we are MISused. That problem of misuse lies within the widely held belief that women are the weaker sex. This belief has religious roots, yet regardless of how it is explained, this belief has led to the unequal and unfair practices against women for ages.
Let me say that for anyone reading this who might initially become offended by my statements of women being used, please don’t misunderstand me. Everything and everyone that was created, was created to be used. Yet we are often offended by the word “used”. The word used in this context simply means purpose.
Women have a purpose that is distinctly vital to the human race. We are birthers, leaders, managers, teachers, givers, nurturers, healers, advocates, supporters, lovers, friends, organizers, peacekeepers, and peacemakers. And as such we are valuable and should be treated accordingly. As women we have more that binds us together than that which keeps us apart. When a woman anywhere is misused and abused, society suffers. When women as a whole are taken advantage of, treated unfairly, abused, and discriminated against based on their sex, the world suffers.
We as women were created to be used for our necessary life-giving and multidimensional gifts of both support and leadership. However, in order to contribute to the world with both our individual and collective God given purposes as women, we must be able to do so in a society where we are valued, respected, and treated fairly and equally.
Nevertheless, because we live in an imperfect world, we must continue to speak up, organize, vote, fight, and most importantly we must educate ourselves.
We are women. We are necessary. We are vital.
